TREND is a partner program of the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers of Alaska (PTAC) and a cooperative program of the University of Alaska Small Business Development Center.
TREND joined PTAC in 2005 under the cooperative agreement with the Defense Logistics Agency, a support agency of the U.S. Department of Defense. Together these programs have developed an array of services that compliment any company or entrepreneur seeking opportunities with the federal government–whether it’s a research grant or a contracting opportunity.
While TREND’s services are tailored to assist with developing product for government, PTAC services assist clients with selling product or service to government. The Alaska PTAC offers technical counseling, seminars, workshops, electronic bid match, electronic commerce assistance, and government market research. Special guidance, information, and assistance is provided covering all of the small business programs including 8(a), SDB, HUBZone, DBE, Minority Owned, Veteran Owned, and Woman Owned.
The PTAC staff is knowledgeable and available to assist you with government purchasing procedures, proposal preparation, pre- and post-award compliance, and marketing to government agencies.
TREND and the Alaska PTAC program have developed a strong relationship and share in a mission to provide quality assistance, education, and resource to the Alaska business community.
The Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research at the University of Alaska Fairbanks provides TREND funding to operate the Alaska Phase 0 program.
