The First Step: Establish a Good Fit

The first consideration is whether or not your situation can benefit from TREND services. We best serve Alaska small businesses and individuals who fit one of the following profiles.

A. Pursuit of Federal Product Development Programs

Are you the owner of a company or entrepreneurial individual looking for ways to strengthen your business participation in federal R&D? Perhaps you need to know more about the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs which provide grants to small businesses for research and development of technology with commercialization potential.

B. Pursuit of Independent Product Development

Or, do you have an idea for a product or service but not sure if it will be profitable to develop and suitably designed for a targeted market? TREND can offer the guidance and information you need to move a concept along the product development cycle.

The Alaska Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is home to four other partner programs and offers you access to a highly qualified, experienced staff and the tools to aid in your business success. These services are available across Alaska.
