2007 A Good Year for Alaska SBIR Companies
There are seven Alaska companies that currently have Phase I, II, or III funding from the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) program. Through these two competitive programs, small businesses across the nation become a significant part of the federal government's research and development efforts. Participants in SBIR translate scientific discoveries and innovative research into products and services that enhance people's lives and contribute to the agency's mission. The following companies represent the talent of the small businesses in this state that are developing sophisticated tech-based projects through this program: · Scientific Fishery Systems, Inc. · Triverus LLC · Mind Matters Research · Airborne Technologies, Inc. · Alaska Native Technologies LLC · Alaska Project Solutions, Inc. · Chena Hot Springs Resort
For more information about the SBIR/STTR program contact TREND at 907-274-7232 or email to ancap1@uaa.alaska.edu. Notably, there are several other Alaska companies pursuing innovative research projects outside the scope of SBIR that are also on the cutting edge.
