Business and Government Research

What can help you with SBIR Phase I?

  • Prior involvement in government contracts
  • Involvement in research and/or development
  • Established goals for broadening business base
  • Resources for grant writing
  • Low-risk funding to test existing idea
  • Open to building a team using external expertise

Some companies are good at developing products to solve problems, and a smart company does not force a fit to a research topic. The key to a Phase I project is having an innovative idea which can be demonstrated to be technical or scientifically feasible with an investment by the federal government.

It is important to identify how this SBIR/STTR project fits into your business and its mission and goals.
